My colors…

January 6th, 2009 · No Comments

January at Scrapmuse is all about black and white - fresh and clean, bright and new. Traci’s challenge to us was to do one layout that was only b&w - and the others to add one color to each layout. It was surprisingly freeing to work in such a limited color palette - I put together some little sneaks to show you what colors I chose to work with:

Isn’t it amazing how every color that I used with the black and white just pops!?!

I think you are going to love the variety of looks that you can get with these papers.

Another take on the January Muse

January 5th, 2009 · No Comments

I hope you’re enjoying all the different ways the design team has used the January kit - and hopefully you have ordered one for yourself. It’s by far one of the easiest kits to work with, and can be used for almost any photo. You can add color to your layouts using some cardstock and embellishments from your stash, or stick with the classic, elegant look of black and white. I added a little bit of blue to my layout to match the photo.

Check back tomorrow to see a layout from Lucy using the January kit!

Versatile Black and White!

January 4th, 2009 · No Comments

With this Scrapmuse kit you can add what ever color you need to make your photos pop off the page! With this Scrapmuse kit you don’t have to add any color, and make your photos the true focal point of the layout!  This months Scrapmuse kit is so versatile, the color combinations are endless, you can add just a splash of color or a page full of color and you are the boss!  In this layout I didn’t add any color to the kit, but I sure could have. I could have colored some of the ribbons in the kit. I could have added color to the flowers, I could have even added color to the alphabet. I just chose not to, that is what is so great about this months Scrapmuse kit, the choice is all up to you!Refection

January Sneak Peek

January 3rd, 2009 · No Comments

Think black and white is only for formal photographs and subjects, then think again! By using just a splash of one color you can transform a formal black and white palette to something fun and whimsical. I used a hot pink color on this layout by painting some of the circles in the patterned paper and also used a hot pink cardstock to accent my photos.

I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with for this kit. It is so versatile and fun!

you will love this kit!

January 1st, 2009 · No Comments

I’ve heard some mixed feelings about January’s kit, but I’m going to ease your fears today. This kit is amazing. I know I’ve said great things about previous kits because let’s face it - they are all great. But this kit is my favorite. My absolute favorite. The embellishments are awesome, the ribbons are fun, & the papers… Luxe & Hambly! Who doesn’t love them?

The kit is all black & white. That doesn’t mean your layouts have to be black & white. The design team is adding a splash of ONE color to our otherwise black & white layouts. I chose purple with this layout I’m sharing today. Keep checking the blog this week for other colors from other designers. I have no doubt you all will love this kit as much as I do!

This page was created using the Tattered Angels spray mist and stickles. I started with water color paper and sprayed the mist over a doily, I finished off by misting the edges of the page. The flowers are punched out ( I used 3) then I used foam dots between each layer and added sticles on the top layer. TFL
